On April 19, 1974 an Israeli F-4E was shot down, the plane was manned by Egal Stavi as pilot and his weapons system operator, Benny Kiryati. It was shot down by an "air-to-air missile" only 4km from the north of Mount Hermon. This kill was achieved by a Syrian MiG-21MF.
